Are You A Member?
The SNB Wood Co-operative Limited was formed in 1974, with 19 Charter Members. Today there are nearly 2000 Members.(Shareholders). Unlike some Co-operatives, you are not required to be a Member to do business with SNB....BUT...there are benefits to being a Shareholder.

-Minimal investment
-Share the profits
-One member, One vote (in the business and operations & elections of the board of Directors at the Annual Meetings
-Eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.
How You Become A Member?
-Fill out the application form
-One time fee of $5.00
-Applications are presented to the Board of Directors for approval
-Based on acceptance, Share Certificates are issued.
What Happens To Your $5.00?
Equity in SNB changes in a number of ways; such as through new membership, distribution of profits to the Members (based on Members' business activity), and interest paid on Loan Capital.
In SNB Wood Co-op's first year of operations (1974-75), Members' Equity (Share Capital) was $2,495. As of March 2021, Members' Equity (Share Capital & Loan Capital) has increased to $625,000.
